We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Database Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s database infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and scalability. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding the development and maintenance of our database systems, supporting data-driven decision-making, and enhancing overall efficiency in data management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Database Design and Planning:
- Analyze and understand the organization’s data requirements to design efficient and scalable database solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, software developers, and stakeholders to gather database requirements and ensure alignment with business needs.
- Develop logical and physical data models for the databases, considering normalization, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
Database Implementation and Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) and related tools.
- Oversee the development and implementation of database schemas, tables, views, and stored procedures.
- Optimize database performance by monitoring and tuning parameters, identifying bottlenecks, and suggesting improvements.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with data privacy regulations.
Database Security and Backup:
- Implement robust security measures, including access controls and encryption, to protect sensitive data.
- Design and implement disaster recovery and backup strategies to ensure data availability and business continuity.
- Database Performance Optimization:
- Continuously monitor database performance and proactively address performance issues.
- Identify opportunities for database optimization and implement performance-tuning strategies.
Data Integration and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load):
- Design and implement data integration solutions to consolidate data from various sources into the database.
- Develop Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to automate data movement and transformation.
- Database Documentation and Governance:
- Create comprehensive documentation of database designs, schemas, and procedures.
- Establish and enforce database governance policies and best practices.
Research and Innovation:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices.
- Recommend and implement innovative solutions to enhance database efficiency and capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience of 4 years as a Database Architect or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of various database management systems (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases).
- Expertise in database design, performance optimization, and data modeling.
- Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance regulations.
- Experience with data integration and ETL tools.
- Proficiency in database programming languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
